Properties and characteristics of inorganic chemical fibers for filter rolls-Fiberglass fiber
This material is outstanding in high temperature applications. It can withstand continuous exposure at 260 degrees Celsius. It also resists most acids, but an important exception is hydrofluoric acid. Fluorine will gradually etch glass, strong alkali at room temperature and moderate alkali at high temperature will also erode glass. The resistance of glass fibers to flexural wear is very poor, and if there is a pulse or severe ash removal, it will soon deteriorate. This brittleness of fiberglass fabrics makes it a good alternative filter material for back-air ash-cleaning systems rather than oscillating or pulsing systems. However, because of its low price, when the project requires low price, the dust removal equipment manufacturer also uses glass fiber as pulse bag filter. With high temperature synthetic felt, the glass fibers on the pulse system can be replaced to improve service life. Fiberglass is brittle, especially easy to be damaged by flexural wear. Under these conditions, high temperature synthetic fibers are recommended to replace them. Fiberglass fabrics are usually selected only to reduce costs and work at high temperatures.
